Siren's Fury by Mary WeberSynopsis: "I thrust my hand toward the sky as my voice begs the Elemental inside me to waken and rise. But it's no use. The curse I've spent my entire life abhorring—the thing I trained so hard to control—no longer exists." Nym has saved Faelen only to discover that Draewulf stole everything she valued. Now he’s destroyed her Elemental storm-summoning ability as well. When Nym sneaks off with a host of delegates to Bron, Lord Myles offers her the chance for a new kind of power and the whispered hope that it may do more than simply defeat the monster she loathes. But the secrets the Bron people have kept concealed, along with the horrors Draewulf has developed, may require more than simply harnessing a darker ability. They may require who she is. Set against the stark metallic backdrop of the Bron kingdom, Nym is faced with the chance to change the future. Or was that Draewulf’s plan for her all along? " *Warning! May contain spoilers for Storm Siren! (aka the first book of this trilogy) Review: Once again Mary Weber starts off the book with a hook which although was nice wasn't completely needed due to the fact the last book ended with a REALLY BIG CLIFFIE.... However the cliffie feeling was confirmed and faded by the second/ third page and I was really thankful she got that through quickly because my leg wouldn't stop shaking until I got up to there. So thanks Mary Weber! (sidenote: I found that bits of this book actually resembled The Young Elites anyone else?) I don't want to give anything away but the first plot twist literally saved me. I won't say anymore except that it was all I was hoping for. Overall I really enjoyed the plot just like I did for Storm Siren, but I felt a slight bit of confusion which honestly could have been just because I was so excited I finished this book as fast as I could. Then there was NYM uh the Siren's fury title really fit because about halfway through I was really angry at her. No spoilers of course but UGH. If anyone has the copy with them page 295 was the point I was freaking out and almost on the verge of tears. Whereas 336 was where I was like HUH?! and also laugh crying.... Then Mary Weber being herself gave us one last plot twist near the end of the book and left me thinking but THANK GOODNESS there was no cliffie on the end because the third book isn't at my library so who knows what would even happen to my poor little brain. However readdressing that last twist, I really didn't see that coming... but then again this book's plot overall is something I just couldn't predict. As you can EASILY see I went through a WIDE range of emotions throughout this book and I would really recommend this book to anyone (of course meaning you would need to go and read Storm Siren first). The plot and characters were clearly given lots of thought and attention to detail as well as the beautiful realm they live in. Overall I absolutely love this series and I really can't wait for the next and sadly final book of this trilogy! Cover: ★★★☆☆ (Don't judge a book by it's cover because this series is freakin' good) Favorite Quote: " Love. Maybe that is the true power."
